About the LA City of Hope

Many may be wondering what the City of Hope is and why the Jonas Brothers, as well as their fans are supporting it. Here is a little about the organization taken strait from the City of Hope Website:

"City of Hope is an independent biomedical research, treatment and education center dedicated to preventing and curing cancer and other life-threatening diseases. We are one of only 40 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers nationwide and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network."

"For nearly 100 years, City of Hope’s pioneering research has brought the world closer to cures for many life-threatening diseases, from cancer to diabetes. Compassion drives our innovation. Every discovery we make and new treatment we develop gives patients the chance to live longer, better and more fully. As an independent medical and research institution, we can break through the barriers that traditionally stand between scientists and physicians, accelerating the application of laboratory findings to more effective treatments. We work with urgency because time matters. Patients with cancer need better options today, not next week or next year. We are proud of our numerous institutional distinctions – from being one of the few National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country to our leadership role in setting standards for cancer care nationwide – as we remain true to our overriding mission to heal the whole person. That means nurturing the emotional, spiritual, social, as well as physical well-being of those in our care. Our patient-centered philosophy guides everything we do. It is why our researchers are relentless in their advance of science, why our physicians bring promising therapies to patients as quickly as possible and why our students immerse themselves in ways to redefine medicine. For many people, City of Hope is where hope begins."
